Temperature REadings
Here are my readings w/ and without water cooling:
Heatsink: 54ºC + Water: 45-47ºC is a 7ºC drop normal...? because I was expecting lower temperatures. What more can I do to drop the temp to lets say 40-42ºC? |
btw, I have an AMD XP 1600+ (1.45ghz) overclocked to 1800+ (1.53Ghz). I'm using Windows XP w/ 512DRAM. Geforce 3 Ti200 and a 40GB HD 7200RPM.

if the fan mounted on the rad isn't completely touching the rad and air is escaping the four sides... can that be part of the prob?
|
Your numbers look good. You might be able to tweak out a few more degrees.
Yes, seal the fan on the rad, with silicone or something. Try to mount that fan 1 in. from the rad (i.e. shroud). If you haven't already, consider 1/2 in tubing, instead of 3/8. The next item would be the pump. You might get an extra few degs with an Eheim 1250, or 1060. |
What MB are you using?
If it reads the XP's internal diode, then you are doing OK. Don't try to compare internal diode readings with incorrect in-socket temp readings - it'll drive you nuts. |
water temp is high
What is the temperature of the room? Your water temps seem *really* high! The CPU temp seems good, considering the water temp.
