Aluminum radiator/heatercore

I need an aluminum radiator/heatercore. Where would I find one of these? Could anyone recommend a specific model? The auto stores and online retailers only seem to have the copper/brass ones for cheap.

Thnx

why do U need an aluminum one? Just get a copper one and use water wetter or other anti-corrosion media.

I'm getting an aluminum block. I prefer they'd match.

Actually any online watercooling shop carries alu rads... And these are usually cheaper (in price) than copper ones.

Yeah they're like 20 bucks at Checkers Autoparts.

I've seen the bobo ones that are just a pipe with a few bends and some fins. I don't want one of those. Not enough performance and not cheap enough(moneywise) either.

I wonder if a motorcycle radiator would work?

Im having a hard time finding the ones on the checkers site. Could you be more specific?

Bah! WHat's with all this copping out and buying stuff? BUILD IT or rip it out of something! I got my 80's Chevette core for a measily $10 flat! You just need some destructive tools for the 10min job; Hammer, tin snips or something to cut heavy plastic, a nice crowbar.

1)Open the hood
2)locate the blackish plastic air casing on the right hand side of the fire wall.
3)Look for the 2 exiting fluid lines
4)GENTLY SMASH away some plastic around the box and it shall reveal the prize!
5)Carefully pry away any material in your way of shaking it loose
6) Cut the lines and let anti-freeze drain out
7)Take that mofo out and then lastly...
8) Take out a screw driver and go to town with all the FREE hose clamps from various cars around etc.

Oh yeah and go EARLY!!!! Nothing like hammering away in a dirty, 100 degree junk yard that opens and closes like bankers hours!

GOod Lucks :D

Some linkage might help, 'cause I can't find a way to find anything there either

Heh ... scrapyard? That's what your annoying neighbor that steals your parking spot is for. Wait until 2AM and take HIS core and clamps and laugh at him when he starts crying the next morning.
