Methalon mixture
 

I want to use the methalon mixture (33%) but I am afraid of the methalon vapor - it is toxin! My PC is in my bedroom and if I am going to turn a pump on 24/7, then... What do you think? Maybe another addition like WW exists but with "better" smell?
By the way - what expected temp of the mixture for Athlon XP2100 and Lian Li 68, all hard disks are in a separated case?
a) PC is turned off, Eheim 1048 or 1250 is turned on
b)PC has full load ( say, Java applets).

Isopropyl alcohol is a bit less toxic and much less volatile than methanol. Also, it acts as a wetting agent considerably reducing the surface tension even in a 5% solution. Anybody knows if it works ok as biocide at 5%? Or 10%? Its viscosity is relatively high so higher concentrations probably should not be recommended.

And it is still very poisonous to drink.

I said it before and I said it again, pilgrim, if you're looking for a non-toxic solution, use ethanol. If you are near a college campus you can get large quantities (denatured) for cheap. That has a low methanol content, but unless you guzzle it, you're okay. If you're so worried about it, you really should just use water and WW. Once your system is closed (use good grade hose) and you wipe it down with a wet cloth to get any WW residue off of it, you won't smell it at all UNLESS YOU HAVE A LEAK. Consider the reek your first line defense against disaster.

There arent fumes anyways. Smell a bottle of windshield wiper fluid. You dont smell anything really. Its not dangerous unless you chug a ton of it.

The problem is - today I haven't got a leak, tomorrow I will have it. Nothing exists always (true, including me myself).

Water wetter is supposed to serve as a biocide, a wetting agent, and an anti-corrosion agent at the same time. Which of these properties is important to you? Methanol solution is a biocide and an anti-freeze.

What proportion WW should be?
