The quest for the illusive plug
Ok, I need everyone's help on this. You know those little black plugs that connect your front bezel lights and switches to the motherboard? Yeah, those, the little black ones that are so easy to get flipped around backwards. Well, I need them. I need to find a place online that sells them in a 5 pin and a 2 pin format with the crimps to attach wires.
Any help would be extremely appreciated. I think they might be called IDC connectors, but i am having no luck finding them for sale anywhere. They plug into IDC headers (pins sticking out of mobo). |
Have you tried Radio Shack? Or is there a Fry's Electronics near you? Either of those places should have them. Don't have any online references though. I might know one place, but I'll have to get back to you.

Thanks man... Radioshack doesnt even carry headers!?!! They suck, plus their prices are outrageous for what you get.

That's true. Did Willy's help you out at all? I didn't feel like searching through all of those PDFs, but they *claim* that they can make ANY type of cable. So hopefully they'll have what you need.

Well, Walleys had some plug ends that were close, but i found them at www.newark.com
part no's 89f4598, 89f4595, and the pins... These plugs are expensive as hell though.. $.35 each for a 2 pin, $.50 for a 5 pin. Plus the cost of the crimp pins themselves, $.17 When you add those up in quantity, its like $15 in plugs for about 11 of em... sheesh... must be a cheaper solution. |
