gmat owns meh, eheim running absolutely silent again
 

thx alot m8, u saved me alot of cash and alot of hassle. now i don't have to buy a new pump anymore. the gluing trick now has me cooling my chip again with a hayden rad + carheater rad in series. after half an hour of seti my temps have leveled at 35°C. with one 120mm fan on each rad in absolute silence. be4 adding the second radiator i would have to crank up those 120's loud to stay under 40°C.

u made my day, my week even. i was having trouble sleeping seeing my investment in radiator going down the drain with the eheim not being able to take the xtra load. i thk i have some pics of the shaft glued to impeller. i will try to post those once they have been developed.

your thread should be as sticky as arctic silver thermal epoxy.:cool:

Nice temps. BTW why not having both rads in parallel ?

i'm afraid that one rad loop would have more resistance and therefor less flow. so now i have one rad be4 cpu and one rad after, i don't thk it would improve alot by having them in parallel. my cpublock limits flow because of 3/8 fittings. if they were 1/2 then the rads with 3/8 fittings might indeed be better off in parallel.

Question:

Does this apply to the 1250 as well? I was told that they have a one piece impeller compared to a 2 piece in the 1048 some time ago. perhaps I'm just confused, but does this mean theres nothing to glue in my 1250?

well, it's very easy to check. the pod that houses the impeller is very easy to screw off. if the screw is clicked on the shaft, then u can glue it.
