Finished Heatercore mod.
I got my heatercore this week from AutoZone for $24 and change. Well here is my progess. I still want clean the extra JB Weld off the pipes and paint all the edges but that will have to wait till the JB Weld has cured.
Hacked off first pipe and cleaned it up a bit. Extra piece on top for comparison. http://mail.crescentheights.com/pics/rad_mod1.jpg Liberal appilcation of JB Weld around the part of the hose bard that is going in the pipe. http://mail.crescentheights.com/pics/rad_mod2.jpg 5 Minutes in the oven to harden a bit of the JB Weld in the second pipe. I needed to do it into two parts because I needed a bunch of JB Weld. This idea I stole right off Procooling.com http://mail.crescentheights.com/pics/rad_mod3.jpg Both fitings done! http://mail.crescentheights.com/pics/rad_mod4.jpg How do you think this setup with Dual Panaflo H1A's will cool a couple of pelts? Very cool, wish I had gotten a radiator that big, mine's JUST a hair too small for a pair of 120's.. But it does do a pair of 92's nicely.. :)
|
heh heh You know it Micheal :)
Una remember you could fit a couple of 120's on anything just shroud it. |
Looks nice! A lot like mine. I like it!
|
So what vehicle was that heater core made for?

i got my leviathan in, and i am now considering a shroud...is it really needed or should i not bother? i see you mounted direct to the rad, aren't you at all worried about the dead spots? or is this size big enough to just not care? would certainly speed things along if i just forget the shroud...
|
hehe pretty much :)

by the way your desk is a mess ;) |
Damn I shoulda come over here long ago...
Well I said it at the [H] and I'll say it here, that thing is sweet with those dual 120mm's on it ;) |
I know it's actually just for my project and I might clean it some day.
Both of you guy's thanks for the comments. I started to mod my case yesterday I'll try to get pics up tonight. This is going to be the sweetest SuperMicro SC750 you have ever seen when I'm done. |
I need to get those pics of my setup uploaded so I can show off... :p

What is the Autozone part number on your core? It would help out several of us.....thanks
|
if I could get into Hardforums I'll let you know the part number. If not I'll look it up when I get home.
Is anyone else having trouble getting into hardforums? |
Autozone Part Number: 398219
|
heheh, that IS the same one!
|
Now we know how much money you make on these :D
|
That's business baby!

in all fairness he doesn't make that much... I think that the mounting tabs are added by him.. the hose bard and jb weld came out to 7 buck and he spray paints it a hammer finish for you.
BAHHHH I still rather do it myself. |
Trust me it aint that much :)
