Spir@l mounting kit??
 

:shrug: Hi ive just got my new spir@l waterblock from the good old usa :)only trouble is how do i mount it,ive got all the bits on nothing to say how to do this?? anybody help me plz ..

(the order in whitch it all goes on)

What do you have?

I have The all metal mounting kit with 4-bolts, 4-nuts, 4-springs, 12-nylon washers, and 4-brass knurled nuts. :shrug:

The 4 long bolts go through the mobo, from the back. Make sure you use the nylon washers. Put the long bolts through, then use the nuts to secure the bolts to the mobo, again using the nylon washers (there should be 12). Once those are tight, slide the block onto the bolts. Once the block is on, put 4 washers on, then the springs, then the thumbscrews, put the thumbscrews on so the grippy part is on the bottom, not the top. That's it. This pic might help:

Just to take it one step further. Make sure you put one nylon washer on each bolt first, sliding it all the way to the head. Then put each bolt through the four holes on the motherboard. Slide another nylon washer on each bolt. Then screw the nuts on all the way to the washer so the bolts are nice and secure. Put the block on. Put the last four washers on each bolt. then put the springs on, and tighten it all up with the four brass thumb screws making sure to use a criss cross pattern.

So... bolt/washer/mobo/washer/nuts/block/washers/springs/knurlednuts.:D

The criss-cross pattern is very important, if you value your CPU. Some instructions say to turn each knob 1/4 turn, in a criss cross pattern.

Some people here would tell you to turn them all the way down, but that's up to you. Personally, I'd turn them almost all the way down.

there should be 8 regular nuts... put the bolt through the mobo, and tighten down a nut on each side, so that the bolt is securely attached to the mobo. ...makes taking the block on and off easier.

I think you must be thinking of the Dangerden type of system. The D-tek is different as it uses metal hardware instead of nylon. The only nylon in the D-tek hardware is the washers to insure you don't fry anything. On the D-tek you have 4 regular nuts and 4 brass knurlednuts.
