will you guys check this out real quick, trying to piece out new h20 system...

I was thinking...

Spiral @Dtek Customschrome 1/2" barbs

copper cleaner

Copper heatecore with shroud unpainted

dtek shroud kit

green uv dye

water wetter

eheim 1250 pump

10ft 1/2" tygon

3x delta 120mm @cooleguys 84 CFM of Air 34 dba 3 pin connector (problem is the 3 pin)

I would mount all this in my antec sx 1040b case. Heatercore in front with 2 120mm fans on it and would mod the back to hopefully take 1 120mm fan or 1 92mm.

I would make a custom res out of plexiglass for the back outside like the plexi tubing i have seen.
Now some things i may change are:
The fans
Get rid of copper cleaner or some additives
Get a heatercore from autozone or somewhere and make my own shrouds to save on some cash!

Do i need water wetter with the flourescent dye?
Would get metal screw clamps at hardware store.

I seriously think im gonna find a suitable heatercore at an auto shop, if you guys could recommend one that would be great.

You do not need fluorescent dye at all... The WW is a good idea though.
Delta fans (even those 120's) are awfully loud. They're litterally screaming. Do your ears a favor and choose silent fans...
(check http://www.silentpcreview.com/module...rtid=25&page=1 )
The 1250 is total overkill for only a CPU block. A 1048 will be more than enough.

agentq232 07-23-2002 02:54 AM

I thought the delta's would be quieter at 34dba

I guess i could go with the panaflo's at 30dba for 68.7cfm

or maybe the Sanyo's at 32dba for 77.6cfm

I know i dont need flourescent dye but I want it :) I was just curious if it was a substitute for WW or not and if WW would mess with the dye.

Papst 4412 FGL : 26.0 dBA @ 55.3 CFM
NMB Tech DC4710NM-04W-B10-P00: 27.0 dBA @ 59 CFM
Papst 4212 NGM (38mm thick): 28.0 dBA @ 58.9 CFM
Those are the best fans, at full speed. When running at 10V or 7V figures change.

The dye will not replace WW. If you're unsure about a chemical reaction make a 'test tube' and fill it with a mix of water, WW, and dye and wait a few days to see what happens...
I think other ppl already mixed those without any problem.

My Dye and WW have no reaction at all,, they are all happy. I have a delta 120 163cfm on my BI xtreme.. oh yah it screams but it definately pulls some air.

If looks are of interest... then remember that WW is pink. The green dye will make the water look like a grayish pink, or grayish green. Consider red UV dye instead...

I don't think that the 1250 is overkill: you'll get a better flow rate, which will cause a higher flow speed in the block, and that's good. The improvement in CPU temps from a 1048 is probably negligeable though, but for $10.00 difference, I don't think that it's wasted.

As for fans, I'd stick with the ones that would give you the highest CFM (i.e. ignore noise, consider price) then apply a rheobus mod to quiet them down to what you can personally deal with. You can then play with it, observe the results, and adjust it any way you prefer.

That's what I'd do.:)

gmat 07-23-2002 11:07 AM

The problem is, i'm a crazy overclocker, and i'll always push the system to its limits. So maximum speed for me. Thus, silent fans :)
Besides if you look at that URL you'll find best fans at 7V or 10V.

agentq232 07-23-2002 02:58 PM

i want the 1250 because im considering getting a gpu block down the road. So It would be better to have the 1250 now for the gpu and cpu blocks later. Ok ill check out the red dye.
Ill look into a fan bus, although I dont know whered Id put it :)

you guys think these nidec fans will be loud? 32.1-dB / 72.0-CFM 2000 rpm

how would 3 of those compare to 4 of my sunon's 30.0db 34.4 cfm 2650 rpm

agentq232 07-23-2002 05:02 PM

How does the maze3 perform vs the spiral. I only ask because it is cheaper, and a poor teenager with no job needs as much money as possible :)

agentq232 07-23-2002 05:15 PM

also what about the via aqua pump assembled for 22 on the front page. Would that be as reliable and leak free as an eheim?

I had a Maze 3 and the performance was outstanding. I know have a spir@l though I won't be installing it untill this weekend so I couldn't tell you performance differences between the two.
