Question about my setup :)

Ok this is how im going to do my setup can you give me some imput plz..

Flow of water~~ Res---->pump---->rad---->y spliter to cpu+gpu--->to another y spliter----->res? is this ok..

Well, you want most of the flow through the CPU block, so if you swap the Y's for T's, and use 1/4 inch tubing for the GPU block, then that'll be good.

On the other hand, if your pump is very powerfull, why not?

Have you decided what specific parts you are gonna use? If yes listing them would be quite helpful

big|d0g 07-25-2002 07:06 AM

o k this is what ive got....

BIX rad
1048 pump
spir@l cpu block
DDgf4 waterblock(for my gf3)
Delta 120mm(190cfm)<--ive got a pc mods fan bus so thats ok
Silicon hose
Large tupaware box
All fittings are 1/2:drool: ;)

bigben2k 07-25-2002 08:18 AM

...then I'd feed the GPU with 1/4 tubing, using a T.

big|d0g 07-25-2002 10:30 AM

So ill need another t to join up after the outlet of the cpu+gpu?

Yes. Use T's instead of Y's.

BB2K: maybe a dumb question, but why a flow-killing T vs a nice Y ?
You could still plug a 1/4" line to one branch of the Y...

Good Q.

I don't believe that the GPU block needs a lot of flow, I think that it needs just enough to stay cool. The CPU wb on the other hand needs as much flow as possible, so why on earth would anyone want to split the feed in half, between CPU and GPU?

big|d0g 07-25-2002 03:26 PM

So what i could do is put a t on before the cpu+gpu then put a y on outlet :)

bigben2k 07-25-2002 03:40 PM

I'd go with T's, but it's up to you.

Ill got with the ts bigben2k,thx for the help :)
:D

Hmmmm the T will kill the flow for the CPU as well... or i missed something here.
Unless you mean that:
Code:

>--T--CPU--T-->  and not  |
  |      |              +-T-+
  +--GPU--+              |  |
                        CPU GPU
                          |  |
                          +-T-+
                            |

In this case (the 1st) the GPU would get nearly nothing.
In my opinion putting a Y and, say, 1/2" lines for the CPU and 3/8" lines for the GPU/NB would be perfect.

#1, that's what I meant. I know that the GPU won't get much, that's the point...

Sanjuro 07-25-2002 07:33 PM

If you can find Y with reduced barbs on one side it would work nicely, because it does pretty much the same as a T
