Does this sound about right?
sorry to ask suck a n00bie question, but i'm worried about my temps. worried that when i get a faster chip they are going to go through the roof.
currently i have a maze 2, BIX, ehiem 1250, DD NB block, 1/2" silicone turing, a tube res, no elbows, one 120mm YS-Tech @ 7v on the rad. the block has a thin coating ov AS2 and is lapped, the fan is blowing through the rad, although i want to get another and have one on each side. none of the components are hot, block, rad etc, but at the moment the temps are as follows: Room: 25°C Case: 27°C CPU: 42°C does that sound ok? i feel it should be below 40°C ideally.. its an Athlon 1.4 @ 1570MHz, 1.9v core, 184MHz FSB EDIT: that temp is full load. http://website.lineone.net/~nick_caw...e/DSCF0010.JPG http://website.lineone.net/~nick_caw...e/DSCF0017.JPG http://website.lineone.net/~nick_caw...e/DSCF0016.JPG http://website.lineone.net/~nick_caw...e/DSCF0014.JPG |
That sounds very fair, remember you also got a nb block to heat the water up a little bit....although I think that a 1250 pump is a little bit overkill for a setup like that......;)

Tried to re-apply some thermal paste? Or tighten the nuts on the block a little more? |
i might re-do the paste cos it was an old tube i used, but the bolts are tightened right down

Actually the northbridge on that epox will get quite hot. On mine it was to warm to touch cofortably. Your temps are quite good at full load and the old 1.4's ran really hot anyways. The newer xp's run cooler than that thing.

Your temps are nice!
If anything, I'd consider putting the NB block on a parallel loop, but restrict (with a ball valve) the coolant going to it, because it really doesn't need a whole lot. That way, you'd have most of the flow on your CPU block, and you'd improve your overall flow rate. |

If you ask me those temps are awesome. With a 25c room temp, and an old 1.4 @ 1.5. I ran at 45c with my 1.4 @ 1.6, with a room temp of 20c-21c. I had a maze 3 with a 700gph mag.
