New airtrap :)

Finally got down and started building stuff for my next wc rig. so far this is what i have done.

Parts came from Home Depot and Micheal's Craft. Didn't take any pics during construction cause i didn't know if it was gonna work. Its gonna be hooked up to my little giant 2-md-sc pump in a custom built wooden case. the dinky 18 inch tower is there for size comparison. Ideas? Comments?

It certainly looks nice, but have you tested it? With your fittings arranged like that, I am a bit worried that it will take forever to rid the system of air.

Very nice, I am just about to buy some acrylic tubing from Ridout to do something similar. What/where did the tube come from?

Here's what I had in mind for my res:

edit: A few notes: I am planning on sealing the bottom using 1/4in acrylic with silicone. Also, notice the pump inlet is seated inside the reservoir. This will also be sealed using silicone. I am hoping to save space and reduce the number of connections by this design.

the link is busted for me :(

Koslov,

That's almost exactly what I did for my resevior, except that I used black ABS instead of clear pipe, and added a couple of fittings to make bleeding and pump swap-out easier. One suggestion: you may want to think about a clean-out fitting instead of an end-cap for ease of filling. You can see what I did in this picture:

Sorry I don't have a better closeup of my design, but you get the idea.

Yeah i've tested it, gets out the bubbles pretty good. (surprised me) Also thats not actually "tube", its something like an arcylic cup from Micheal's Craft, cause i can't find cheap tube anwhere near me. The top is about 106mm in d, the bottom is 100mm and the whole thing is 8" tall methinks. Had to grind the top abit to fit into the 4" PVC thingie. turned out really good though

Also as you can see i've stolen Skulemate's avater and made a few additions :)
