How about put a expansiom valve before the rad??

make like a mini res/coolection thingy then the valve makes the water like a mist and the air cools it very quickly thnen the water goes to the rad and the process begins.

Wouldn't that be a bong then? And why use the radiator at all, you'd actually be heating the water.

If the water doesn't evaporate, turning it to mist isn't going to help it get any cooler.

If the rad/bong is closed off, I'm guessing the water would evaporate a little, but the air inside would become saturated with both moisture and heat. If enough heat built up in the air, it might start dumping heat back into the water? Bongs work because water can evaporate and take heat with it as it escapes.

Expansion valves.. If I am thinking of the right thing.. work best in refrigeration systems :)

You are so limited with cooling of water.. IT's either let it evaporate.. like in a bong setup.. or run it through a rad.. And it's no matter because the water can already take up so much.. Even if you were able to cool that water another 3C.. you probably wouldn't see a better overclock.. Probably just a more stable one..

Like what was said before, by misting the water in a bong, it evaporates and that is what causes the cooling. You cannot do that in a closed system (I don't even want to think of what kind of monstrosity a phase change system with water as the refrigerant would be). Due to the water pressure, you wouldn't be able to achieve misting at any rate unless you had a 4-5 inch spreader, and it would be recompacted to fit into your radiator. Go ahead and do it. It might look neat with some leds or something, but it won't do you any good whatsoever. Sorry.

Phase change with water is tremendously effective until the water eats a hole in the metal, not to mention shorting out the compressor motor coils. Pure water vapour is VERY reactive, which is one of the reasons early refrigeration pioneers rejected it. Think "rust at lightspeed" and you'll understand. :D
