Hayden shroud
first post...woot...anyways i recently finished watercooling my system and im not as pleased as i thought id be. Ambient right now is 32C (hot i know...no a/c sucks) and MBM is showing 42C with just netscape going.
one thing that would help my cause is a shroud for a my rad, hayden 676...anyone got any ideas about how to mount this thing to two 120's and keep most of the air going through it? |
Cardboard box?
|
maybe i should clarify, i was hoping that someone could point me in the direction of what others have done with this rad. that being said, any takers?
|
again...
cardboard box? sheet metal box? I saw a guy make a shroud with sticky notes once. :) |
Ah heck! I ain't got time for this: goto overclockers, and look for the article titled:
"Water Cooling Upgrades: Heater Core and Fan Shroud" |
Same principle?
Here's my 75 Caprice core and shroud:
http://phaestus.procooling.com/shroudcutout.jpg 1. Cut out design in aluminum flashing (I used scissors) http://phaestus.procooling.com/shroudfolded.jpg 2. Fold into the desired shape. Affix to core with liberal amounts of Goop http://phaestus.procooling.com/finishedcore2_s.jpg 3. Add a little something to attact the ladies. (Optional) |
on my hayden i use cardboard, tape it together with electrical tape. then i use double sided tape on the rad; stick the shroud on (don't worry, is a rocksolid setup)
|
great, a reply other than cardboard box...thanks for the pics pH, thats what i was lookin for and that core of yours is pretty close to the hayden so ill give that a shot...
