iced down computers
 
Could I cool my computer by putting it in a watertight container and put it in ice, or would that somehow damage it?

The heat that a CPU generates requires a heatsink, or some kind of heat spreader. If you pack up the mobo in a watertight container, you've just lost the ability to cool the heat spreading plate.
