I'm thinking about going TEC
I really like the swiftech 226w pelt setup for P4. I have a few Q's about it and pelts. (1/2 in. barbs)
...first comments from owners of this model ...how low can i reach at idle with rig below and adequate power of course ...can i run it in line with the block on ati The last is my most important concern. i don't want a seperate setup for my vid card. Will the heat of the water be too much and overheat my vid card? Thanks this is my first post at this forum :p EDIT: The Swiftech is up and running with a monsterous lytron Cu rad and 2 10in fans. my temps at 185fsb@1.75v are as follows: IT-&temp: load:26c idle:2c Probe on the socket: load:14.3c idle:-11c keep in mind i'm cooling r9700 with the same water and running Via Aqua1300 through a 20in x 11in rad!!! there is almost no flow. |

with a P4 and a 226 watt pelt and a good radiator and WC system you could probably get bellow 0 C

I wouldn't be concerned about water temps, but it's a good question.
Without a Pelt, people have reported water temps at 30 deg C or less. I think that even with a Pelt, you should expect pretty much the same. Since your vid card will run much hotter, there's still a benefit in using the same water to cool it. Alternatively, if you're crazy enough, you could pelt the VC too. It would be a custom made solution though, because I don't believe that there's such a block out on the market. |
my water temps are 29c with fan on max and 34c with it on low wich is almost silent. these are idle temps though. I would throw a pelt on the vid but i don't have the money and any experiance with pelts as of yet. thats why i want to get the "prebuilt" setup from swifty.

hey shaft its kamiloc:p from the [H]... i have the swifty 226 in the mail as well as a meanwell psu. unfortunately they peak to peak power was out of the 15v 23A psu's so i just got the 12v one from cooltechnica they have some nice stuff there. i'm still worried about my radeon getting too hot. Can someone give me an estimate of water temps with a TEC like that. I know its going to be a rough one and dependent on so many components but just to get a feel for what people are getting.
