which is the best waterblock?
would it be the swiftech MCW372, or the Dangerden Maze2? Or is there another contender i dont even know about?
I kinda like the swiftech model better because it has swivel quick-connect fittings, and they were the ones who first thought to direct the fresh water flow directly over the cpu die. (oh yea, swiftech has another monster of a waterblock, the MCW462, but i dont want that one, its too big for me) It seems a buncha peeps here on this forum are partial to the dangerden maze block. I was just wonderin why, cuz i cant find a 'waterblock roundup' review anywhere. |
Personally I have a Z3 Copper water block, and it's great. The temps are good, and the fittings feel much more secure than the maze. However, I think it would be great if someone did a review of the waterblocks out there, all other hardware being equal.

Swifttek makes fine heatsinks, but their watercooling parts aren't nearly so good. You won't be disapointed with the Maze2. Mine arrived today and I can't wait to try it out. :)

I'm super happy with the Maze 2. I don't know if you saw my post but aparently theres a new version that every one is calling the "upgrade". Supposedly the 1/2" versions are now usually this unit, maybe consider asking about it.
Also a word of advice, use good hose. I found (by burning a 1.33) that although the four corner stud mount is probably the best, it's weakness is you can leverage / rock the waterblock easily with stiff 1/2" hose. Get some silicon if you plan on the 1/2" route. |
