You can get a pretty good idea of where this is headed I think: note the existing radiator, fan, and reservoir, the new copper top Maze 3-1, a rather uncommon pump, a 226W peltier, and some clearflex 60. Looking for a (relatively) cheapo PSU now...

That TBred WILL be cooled :)

ya ya I know. I missed out. I am keeping my eyes open for that guy again on ebay tho.

I am saying the same thing to myself... at one point I believe they were as low as $65!

Now there is something that some uber geek may want to investigate...

Dell makes PSU's for their 2650 that are 3"x3"x12" ( approx dim.), that are rated to 700 watts. Something to think about. They have some very small 300 watt ones also in their 1U's.

dell psu's are also NOT atx compliant, even though the headers will fit on normal atx boards. I dare you to plug that thing into a retail atx compliant board. I learned the hard way.

its onyl on their old PSU's they have changed the +3.3v pins to the aux header.
/me is so happy thinkig of tha would have happend if teh ABIT th7ii-raid would have burned.

All of the high amp PSUs I've seen on eBay are too big to fit in a case, like the Astron PSUs. Only the Mean Well's are the right size, but I haven't seen one in many months. Until I saw this PSU: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2064923160

It's an ATX PSU that apparently has 25A on +12v, which seems pretty good. And cheap too. Someone should get it and see if it is what it says, because you could probably power a 226w pelt and a full system if it is true.

Oh, and I looked at those 700W Dell PSU's, but they are huge! Like the size of two ATX PSU's stacked on top of one another, but even longer. And no ATX connector either! But from what I can tell they have 30A on +12v.

How many amps do ya need to run the pelt? There are some 12v psu's @ 12.5A & 17A on this page that might work for ya:

What size are you thinking about for the PSU? I have a link to a 500 w with 20 amps (I'm prety sure) on the 12v line, but is is normal sized (and located in the US).

226W is 24A. Not typical specs of ATX PSUs.

I have a 169W that should run on an ATX psu though (18A).

18amps should be perfect (if it's continuosly rated) TEC's are optimal at about 70% of their V~Max, any more and you get very little extra cooling I believe :shrug: ...

]JR[ chap at CoolHardware.co.uk made one very cheaply, does'nt have overvoltage protection though, ask him about it on the CoolHardware Forum if you're interested, there might be an article about it as well I think(???)...

TEC PSU's are the only PITA about pelt' cooling :( ...

The 169W is a really nice size. About 15A at 12V; not hard to find a regular PSU that'll do that.
