swiftech mcw462-b , good buy?

i have an option to buy this one second hand.

i have a high flow system:
1/2
2 rads in parallel
eheim 1250

my maze2 is severely restricting my flow and am looking for a high flow block. from billA's work i can deduct that the mcw462-b is a high flow block.

if however the new mcw462-u a is big improvement over the old version, i will hold my horses.

thx

you have 3 candidates: the old 462 (b ?), the 462-U, and the 462-UH

VERY preliminary testing indicates the -UH runs 3°C hotter than the -u
BUT
at the same pressure drop the die temp is effectively the same

rather interesting, and certainally of significance to WCing systems builders
(I hesitate to say designers)

the 'problem' that arises lies with building a system that is truly high flow, greater than 12lpm
we're talking BIG hoses, and NO fittings of the 90° type

the old 462 is my preferred wb (I have 3 !), very easy to mod effectively
this will put you in the front row

thx for the info, think i'm gonna buy it then. the money i'm paying for it , it doesn't matter too much if i mess up the stipulation.
