Can I convert USB2.0 to firewire?

Are there any adapters out there that I can use to make my USB2.0 external hard drive plug into my firewire port?

USB and firewire use two completely diffrent methods to encode and decode the signal. You would need to buy an adapter card. They are only about 20$

you can get adapters, but you might as well just buy a pci usb2 card, it's a similar price to the adapter
