Milling - mmmmmm
Got a bit of an advice kinda quest goin on here, and I know theres a few millin gurus around here maybe you could tell me if this would work well for 'small copper' projects, yes 'small copper' projects, :D
Mill Is Here. |
Off-hand, yes, that should be good. The 2 HP motor looks great, but you might need to gear up the RPM, and that's a mod.
I'll let Fixittt and Jaydee chime in here. |
Ohh yeah that would do it.
Looks almost exactly like the one I am getting next week. Except mine has a power feed on the table. That thing would do just about anything you want to do. The 600+ pounds is a pain though! |
actually The one that I am getting is mroe this speed

What about CNC converting at a later time - expensive ? -impossible?
Thanks for the replies ben and fixittt. [EDIT-I gotta learn to type sometime] |
a CNC conversion is something that can be done to that mill. Even the Z axis. The knob in front on the head can be used to lower the spindel. Would take some work to moiunt a motor on it. There is no place to bolt on a motor mount. So some fixtures would have to be made. As for the x and y axis, that is no problem. Also, finding stepper motors that can put out that amount of power might be a challenge. But defonitly do-able.
