AthlonXP 2400+
Im working on a new system, waiting till xmas to toss it together, however I went out and bought the radiator today, a 6 1/2 x 6 3/4 x 2 heatercore, 5/8" fittings ima convert it over to 1/2", im getting a 162mm 200cfm fan for xmas for it, either that or a 172mm at 250cfm, ima put em on like 7v insted of 12, got my block design worked out, turbine cooling custom block, and a 600GPH pump, what im wanting to know is Would this Astec PSU http://becooling.safeshopper.com/26/159.htm?210 put on 13 or 15v work well enough ot power a 172w pelt? or possibly 220? i mean sufficiently enough, its for a 2400+ system im putting together and im trying to reach subzero temps

They say that it does. Did you check out the review?
I did. It's the same supply that was (still is?) available from AllElectronics.com, I think! |
Most 172watt pelts I've seen have been 24Volt, 15v would almost be in the sweetspot(15~18V). 220watt pelts I've seen have been 15Volt(max)~24Amp(max), so 12v would be near their sweetspot. At 75%(i think, very near that anyway :) ) TEC's are at their optimum, over that they throw out ALOT more heat for little extra cooling power...
Go 220watt for sure!... |
ya, ive decided ima go with a 220 and 12v, im also going with a freon water chiller (phase) TILL i can get a decent block built to act as the evap.
Thanks |
