Pictures of 9-12 inch tall heatercores?
 

Some of you guys have large heatcores...and I've got a plan in mind for my old case to bring it back into watercooling if I upgrade it. Anyone got pictures of a radiator of such a height?

Kinda like the Black Ice Pro or the Innovotech radiator...

The abyss comes to mind.

Here's what I use, it's the under seat heater(heatercore) out of a 1955 lincoln (copper). Measureing in at 6"X9.5"X2.5"

There are many heatercores that are 2 inch thick or less, but listing all 73 of them here would just take up space.

Ben, your heatercore knowledge is truly frightening to behold. Ever consider working in a parts department?

For some wicked rads, go to www.lytron.com and look under 6000 series copper heat exchangers. They have them in all different sizes and shapes and they will probably kick the shiz out of most anything you'll come across. Be warned, you'll need a good pump for these ... even the small ones will spank the ass of the Via Aquas and Rios people talk about around here. I believe hmale used one of these on his acrylic masterpiece that is floating a month back or so in this forum.

wow bigben2k, i'm impressed. i snaked all the pics from heatercore4u (all 325 of em) and was thinking of making some kinda dbase myself. what prog did ya use to make the dbase? could you export it for me? A webpage where ya punch in the dimensions and it spits out the heater core number and pic would be nice. Also if it gave the make/model of the vehicle so you could goto autoparts store and get it would really rock! I'd be willing to help sort thru and find the corresponding vehicles, but the web end is beyond me. If interested in pursuing this project, lemme know.

Unloaded: I used BlackWidow to leech the heatercore4u website.

I've compiled the heatercore data in an MS-Acces file. I don't have the car models, but hey, if you want to do it, that's be great! If you can get the car data together, I'll trade you the heatercore specs. They include all three dimensions, plus inlet/outlet sizes, and a note field, where I specified if there was anything unusual about it (mounting flange, dual inlet, etc...).

I've thought about a webpage too, but I lack the skills. Otherwise, I have the query parameters that would make it work well. I could put together an MS-Access form, and we could let people download the MS-Access file?

I hate to suggest using M$ software, but you can easily setup a database and access page through Frontpage 2002. If you don't have it you can get it off of Kazaa. I'd be willing to throw it together if I had the basic data. Prolly take me an hour (it's part of what I do for a living). If you send me the data, I can prolly send you a FrontPage Web that you'd just have to copy onto a server with FrontPage extensions. No modification would be necessary. If you want to hook it up, shoot me a PM, and I can prolly do it tomorrow at work. And yes, I can use the backgrounds that Utabintarbo was so fond of for the results page ....

Was waiting for your post...did a search and saw you had a better handle on the database than I did...I only have the Ford Heatercores partially memorized. :D

But I passed up the side post heatcores as they'd be a problem.

Argh!, never!. the BIP(bip!, LoL!) is only 25mm thick!. the Abyss is 48mm (core 32mm if memory recalls).

What do you want pictures for?...

What about the big momma & titan ones from the thread?...

I want pictures because I visualize my work.

Here's some pictures of my heatercore. Its a 9x9x2, with 5/8" hosebarb fittings on it stock. I've replaced the hosebarbs with 1/2" NPT fittings for my setup.

VB can access access databases quite easily, using DAO.
I wrote a few small buiness databases that way. (queries are done using SQL)

This is the setup for my current project (temporarily placed in case). If I remember correctly, it's a heatercore out of a 84 or is it 87 Ford Escort. Around 9-10 inches tall. Nevermind the 4 fans & shroud - they will be replaced with a 120mm or the 170mm Comairs.
