Impeller on Enheim pumps

Have you experienced that the impeller have been damege on a Enheim pump?

The reason I ask is that I'm making a pump failure alarm.

And does it help too glue the impeller whell to the impeller?

which model do you have though? i thought none of the eheims had to do this mod, but then i heard somebody say the 1048 does.

it is not needed on the 1250 for sure, that is what i got.

I have a 1048 and it needed the impeller glued to the magnet because it made a very irritating noise. However all 1048s do not exhibit this problem, a friend of mine with a similar setup has had no trouble at all with his. I think it's because the problem only arises at a certain range of flow resistance in the system. I'm currently using a low pressure drop radiator from DangerDen and my friend used the DD Cube which basically points to either that the pump exhibits noise with lower resistance as the Cube in my friends system made the pump noise-less, but it could also be because of trouble with my impeller.
