R&Rs for my 1st water rig

hey, i'm sure this looks weak compared to what everyone has seen, but i just finished a few improvements on my first water cooled one. i thought i could share them with you:

http://home.attbi.com/~strongshock/rig.htm

improvements include:

GF4 block & Ramsinks (i know, they're BGA sinks, so what)

better mount for my NB block (finally conquered the hook style mobo mounts)

tygon (no more wetter stench leeching through silicone & in to my office)

rerouted hoses from CPU&NB || GPU to CPU || NB&GPU. this helps balance the flow rates.

changed from hose T's to Y's to increase flow rate & even flow division between the || circuits.

added an 2 inches of length to my cheapo "res/airtrap", which greatly reduces the frequency at which i have to refill it while i'm bleeding air from the system.

Bottom line, it cools my system more than enough for extended deathmatches using the highest clock settings available with my BIOS & software.

Did you jam you kid under the PC to take pics?, that foot looks suspiciously small! :D ...

I would be very interested in seeing how you are mounting the NB using the hook style mounts... Ive had to epoxy mine on and it wasnt fun...

Case looks real roomy... Im jealous:P Everything is soooooo crammed on mine.

That is a nice job with that tower case. I never thought to turn my BIX sideways like that. Nice and clean.

Nice case!:D

I'm probably going to have a problem mounting my pump in mine. See for yourself(eves):

I don't know what to say about that ... that is one big mutha.

MadDogMe 11-18-2002 01:21 PM

What's all the 'gumpf' at the inlet?, also what's with the small in/outlets?...

bigben2k 11-18-2002 01:46 PM

He he, that's a PVC tee (inlet) for the drain valve (which will probably end up being somewhere else). The top has a 1/2" male NPT thread, which I converted to female, so that I could put my barb in. If my PVC res turns out well, it might connect directly to the pump, and have a screw cap coming out the top of the case.

Otherwise, the pumps is THAT big: it's resting against the front(inside) of the case. Venting will be an issue.

[edit] the tubing has been converted to 3/4 since that picture.

EDIT:

I like the Pump relay power connector...I was gonna do that but opted not to.
