Quick alternative to water wetter...
 

Quick question...

no water wetter available whatsoever in my area so I need alternatives for a good mixture...

my waterblock is copper and so is my rad but the res is aluminum so i need some anti corrosion stuff....

I was thinking of getting just windshield wiper fluid (as it contains a 33%meth/water mix) but I have heard two different sides to this additive...some ppl hail it as the best thing ever while others do not...

I was thinking of going anti-freeze with distilled water....

What do you guys suggest??

Also for those who use windshield wiper fluid, is that the only thing you guys are using in your system (no distilled water no other stuff)??? So I go to my local auto store and just buy the wwf liquid and use it in my WC rig?

Or I can use antifreeze with distilled water?? Thoughts?

I would bag the al. res but that's me. I would go for 10% anti freeze with distilled water. I don't think the WW fluid has any anti corrosive properties to it.

as for the corrosion.... isn't there a trick involving connecting the alu part with the copper part using a normal electrical wire? I remember reading something about the wire corroding instead....

Doesn't work (the wire trick). Use Hyperlube. That should be available. If not, look for standard radiator additive. It should be labelled "keep engine cooler, prevents corrosion, blah blah." It'll work. It's all generally the same, though some are better than others.
