Hardocp does Innovatek
[H]ardocp have a test of Innovatek's gear (as you know they didn't include them in they WB roundup).
They didn't like Innovatek's GPU/chipset cooler at all: Quote:
Interesting, as Joe Citarella seems to like it over at overclockers: http://www.overclockers.com/articles581/ I'm about to set up a watersystem with this GPU-cooler, so I was a bit horrified by the remarks by [H]ardocp. But maybe I shouldn't be? Regards, stoff |
i like my Innovatek GPU block. It keeps my GF3 about 10C cooler than the Crystal Orb did at 12V, and about 15C cooler than the Crystal Orb with fan undervolted to 7V (loud damn thing). Vid card GPU temp measured from Leadtek's software that supposedly takes internal temp. I can't comment on the HardOCP review as I have them blocked both at work and home. It is a good general rule to assume that they are always correct, as JoeC will not kick your ass. Steve, of course, will (raaawr)

I liked looking at the pictures...
I think thats all they got for me...a nice camera... |
I found a useful bit of info:
"During the manufacturing process, the core itself is pressed into the anodized block and bonded, meaning once the core is in, it isn’t coming out." I had always wondered what that inner part looked like. |
Guessing Innovatek's check must have not made it to Steve in time...
:p Also if you are stuck wondering "wow steve didn’t like it and Joe did? who must be right???" Well there’s only 2 things for sure... steve will kick your ass - cause he’s all about kicking your ass!, and JoeC knows a SHITLOAD more about testing than Steve could even comprehend. Me.. I personally trust those who are at least literate in testing methodology and have the concept of cooling understood :) |

I cant wait until I get the time to set my watercooling system up. Regards, stoff |
Hmmm?, I've never heard anything but good about Innovatech gear, especialy their blocks! (maybe not their reservoir! ), I guess they're not too hot on backsheesh* though :p ...
*Oriental for 'Big Flashee Banner'... |
steve won't kick your arse, he just likes playing with it, and your arse moustache ;)
|
Interesting review.... if you'll note, he definitely does better than he did on his block round up in terms of defining the methodology used and showing the entire system. Perhaps Steve learned something from the criticism he got on his last review.....

but it got 'corrected' at 3 in the morning by a 'p[H]otos[H]op [H]acker'!! :p ... * Inuit fertility rite |
Innovatek hardware is, objectively, top notch.
What i don't like is their marketing policy (lots of hype, even if their hardware is worth it), and their prices (way too high). Oh and aluminium mixed with copper, too. Overall you won't be disappointed with your block. (edit) huh, [H] ? who's that ? i don't read underage rated stuff |
Well for what it's worth it is a lot more straightforward to test a complete kit: Set it up according to instructions and then monitor how it performs. The burden of monitoring and adjusting flow rate and other testing variables would presumably far on the mfgr prior to assembling a "kit".
I find the whole "I WILL KICK YOUR ASS" thing funny still, but am going to try and refrain from making such comments publicly in the future. It seems like sour grapes or just whining after a certain point, which isn't my intention at all. Since Steve IS being somewhat prolific at testing w/c components, he should consider buying Innovatek's testing simulator. It costs a few hundred dollars, but H|OCP has the funds... |
