My DIY waterblock.
This is my first post here.
I just finished my new waterblock. http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool17.JPG http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool18.JPG http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool19.JPG Here's a picture of the block before joining the parts. You can see the swirl-channel. http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool11.JPG I'm gonna solder rigid copper pipes to the two holes. Eventually the whole system is gonna be one-piece from copper. :D My radiator is a 180x160x50mm heatercore. http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/radia01.JPG What do you think? Very Nice! Let us know how it performs when you have everything setup. Is that a Addtronics 6890?
|
No, it's an Aopen Hx-08. To be replaced with a wooden case. I will custom build the one-piece cooling for the wooden case. :) Have to make the pipes so they can be bent away slightly from the CPU slightly in case hav to access it. :)
|
I take it you soldered the top plate to to the bottom plate with the channels on the waterblock? Very nice.
I have the same heatercore :D |
VERY Nice finish on the block, Cant even see any seams...
|
Ja den er fin du :)
Hvordan fekk du kobberen så blank? |
First I sanded each side on a glass plate with some 220-grade sandpaper on it to even the sides out. Then I lapped them with progressively finer paper and finished with 1200. All surfaces except the bottom were polished with some steel-wool.I have never tried steel-wool before but it worked great! :)

I made myself a little nanoblock-wannabe. I'm not sure if it's wide enough for the AthlonXP as I don't have one. It's 11,2mm wide and 24mm long. If it's too small I can use it on my K6-3 instead and make a new one for the AthlonXP I ordered. :) They're really easy to make.
I'm going to make a clip for it later. Here it is. http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool20.JPG http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool21.JPG Here it is next to a K6-2 and my other waterblock. http://home.sol.no/tahustvedt/images/cool22.JPG [ 12-12-2001: Message edited by: Tor Arne ] |
Man those are some great looking blocks. I wish I had the resources to put something like that together.

where can I find more information on the genuine nanoblock? google isn't helping, and it looks like a good idea to me
|
OCWC's page is http://www.overclockwatercool.com/waterblocks.html , but they just give a pic of it and stuff.

Hehe! :)
It means "there are more of us" :) finns=exists (but this sentence doesn't translate well directly) :) [ 12-13-2001: Message edited by: Tor Arne ] |
