Still haven't finalized the filter and bezel plan. But I'll use some type of filtration, leaning towards one of those electrostatic ones like I have in my furnace. They are basically 3 layers of mesh and the airflow causes the static which grabs dust. Not sure how restrictive it would be tho. Alos the original filter guard will be modded to allow more flow, along wih the bezel. More pics as I go. I really need to paint parts of the core, but right now I'm too impatient, hehe.

Nice work. I love plexi crafted things. You'll probably have to dust now and again to keep the "bling" "bling" effect goin. Good work man!:D

Dude, that rocks! I am actually doing a similar setup of a Lian-Li with a BIX (see picture for intial layout --yes, that's an aluminium Panaflo :cool: ):

I was going to put a plexi shroud _between_ the fan and rad, but putting it _over_ the fan looks much better! Mind if I pinch the idea?

Also, I would be curious to know what you are going to do to the filter to increase flow.

As for the bezel (of my PC-12), I am painstakingly drilling out the holes and squaring them with a file, so the whole thing keeps its factory finish look. Tedious, but worthwhile the effort; in aircooling it is reported to drop case temps by another few degrees so it can't be bad for the rad either.

Both of those sure look swell. How is that plexi about noise? My ghetto cardboard shroud causes an unpleasant buzzing. Kind of like an angry hive of bees, but a little lower pitched :p.

Also, how common are these chevy luv HCs?

Very nice looking shroud. I was looking at the prebuilt ones at JPI Performance since Gluing Acrylic and Me dont usualy work together, hehe. Im thinking of making some type of top-mounted radiator/fan assembly to go on top of my PC60 but it seems the BIX and I would assume the black ice pro fit well down where the hard drive cage was.

Hmm decisions decisions :)

You can get a nibbler at Radio Shack, and I don't know about aluminum, but with steel, these mofos are slow. After a while they hurt your hands ;[.

It's also available at Directron. (I'm not affiliated!)

Nice looking setup, looks like that radiator was a tight fit in the bottom of that Lian Li.

As for the nibbler if you have a CompUSA Nearby most of them carry them now.

i have a pc68 case and i was wonderin... what hc are u using? if u got it out of the junkyard or if u bought it. what is the make and model of the hc? also nice looking rig too

No problem :) I noticed them last time I was in there, couldnt believe all the Case Mod Related stuff they had in.

Let me know how well they work for you and what you use them for, Im going to be cutting another window into the top of my case and I havent decided what Im going to use. (Lian Li PC60) to show off the BayRes, Fan, and Radiator I just ordered :) Should have all the new parts here late next week Im hoping.

Unloaded: those windows rock!

MrMatt: In a Lian-Li the BIX and PI Pro will literally _just_ fit where the HD drive bay is, when turned on their side. In upright position you lose the lowermost 3.5" drive bay (you have to cut that part of the cradle away --no major surgery). I'm keeping the two intake fans (the idea being that they introduce cold air into the case, and the fan/rad assembly straight behind it will pull in what it needs, the rest will flow past it into the case prper), but you could cut away the whole area and make a 120mm hole instead, with one of those filter grilles designed for a 120mm fan.

Coming to think of it, an added advantage of Unloaded's shroud surrounding the fan (rather than between fan and rad) is that it probably blocks some of the fan noise as well.

Wow I didnt think the BlackIce would fit down below there where the HardDrive cage is on bottom, hmm I might have to look into that, I was planning on mounting it up top with a window and stuff, but I might consider putting it down below, Thanks for the info.

Still collecting parts to watercool my system
My box is steel,so I know it is not going to be easy to cut.
the res,pump and hc will be out on top of the case

For cutting steel the Jigsaw and dremel are your friends :) I cut a large window and blow hole in my Old Antex SX1040B and I dont think their is a case made with heavier steel!! That thing was a beast, but the jigsaw and dremel made short work of it.

@ MrMatt: yeah, it is an extremely tight fit but will just go. The reason I decided on an upright position is that it works out better for me with where I'm placing the res and tubing... Moreover I want to put a thin layer of neoprene under the rad to prevent fan vibrations propagating through the case. With the BIX in sideways position under an intact cradle, there is no way you can even put a sheet of paper in there anymore.

It for a Chevy LUV truck, its same for all years of the model. The Fedco# is 2-563 the GDI# is 39-8205 mine is a GDI as it was cheaper where I got it, $47 is what it cost. Also I had to wait 2 days for them to get it in.

Wow you were right it JUST fits, Mine kinda scraped against the cage to get it in there.

Just got my system installed with the water cooling, so far so good, have a lot left to do but the cooling end of its working, my XP1600+ is sitting right around 28* C Idle and I still have to hook up my other two case fans so that might improve it some more, going to see how she does at full load later and then start cranking up the speed.

Ill post some pics later.
