Can someone point me to some links on adding a load on the 5v part so the 12v is 12v. I could not find the place I read this at before. Thanks.

Only some power supplies need a load on the 5v line. If so, www.tedist.com sells some relatively low wattage/voltage pelts that run at 48w on the 5v line :). That should work.

If it's just for testing purposes connect an old HDD to your PSU.
