second setup

Hi friends, i am new in this excelent forum:D
I managed to fit an in-line wc inside of a very small case (cutted the second and third hdd bays to put the rad). So it is very fine to me.

So i am starting my second rig, but i dont have much money, so i connected a 3\4 to 1\2 adapter in the in let pump hole.
It is a 515 gph pump. my question is :
is tottaly submersible pump(here in brazil we dont have in-line pumps:( )
but via aquas manual says that it can only be run submersible, like maxijets
Should this pump survives ??

The Via is often used in-line, but it wasn't designed for it.

It seems that it will run hot, so if it is possible, maybe you can build a small res to make it submerged?

That block looks awfully familiar...

BTW: Welcome to ProCooling!

Thank you bigben2k
it is really bruno´s block. It performs very well, better than tc4.
but the pump is some big, so the reservoir will not fit in the case.
it is a 30 W with 2.3 m head...
i Dont think it will survive.
any other idea ?
Thanks and sorry my engish

what about heatsinks and fans blowing air ?
kind stupid.
very nice radial block, good luck;)

bigben2k 01-07-2003 06:34 PM

So what happened to your junction box ? Isn't it big enough? Can you make it bigger?

(BTW: you're not new anymore, you're one of the guys now!;) )

Unfortunately, heat does not travel very well through the plastic housing.

But even when submerged, heat has to travel trough the plastic casing.

You do understand that the loop must have water in it, because the pump will not prime itself?

Maybe you could hook up your T fitting to the pump inlet and outlet, to see if the pump works ok?

Thanks ben, i did it, but didnt work, i will take a pic to show you the impeller.

Dropped temp by 4 C, but still bleeding.http://www.terra.com.br/fotos/foto.c...WwyZWj/hq0.jpg
