Swiftech Air Cooled Pelt Setup
Any ideas on how well this is going to work? There are no expected temps listed:

Only problem I see is they want you to use a 80mm 80CFM fan to get the results it shows in the graph. Better plan on buying a box of ear plugs aswell. :D

I have one and install a 120mm 130CFM on it (suck air out).
The temp of the pin is about ambient but the base is still warm. CPU temp is OK. When I switch the fan to blow into the heatsink. Area around the heatsink gets very warm. |
did you find that blowing gave a decremental cpu temp? or was your reason for sucking purely so you wouldn't heat up the motherboard?

When the fan is sucking, CPU gets very low.
When the fan is blowing, CPU gets warm. But I suspect that the in-socket thermistor gets warm rather than the CPU die. Anyway, all other components get warm too eg. MOSFETs, capacitors, other ICs. |
