Water Wetter substitute? Blue!
 

I was wondering if this stuff would be a viable replacement for WaterWetter. One reason I like it better, is it is available locally (autozone) and is blue instead of red. And yes I know that you dont add enough to change the color of the water, but still I think it makes a very slight difference.

It looks ok. It states that it has corrosion prevention, which is why you really want it.

The problem with using these things, is that they're meant to be operated at high temps, like in a car, so how they react at low temps will vary greatly.

You also don't know what it smells like: it's not relevant in a car.

Honestly the smell does not matter at all, being that i have everything closed off, and sealed. Plus, I dont open my system up too much. About the temps, is Waterwetter known to work well at the lower temps that we run pc's at?

It seems to provide the required protection, yes.

But as BillA found out, it also leaves a thin slimy deposit. I don't know if flushing the system every 6 months would cure that, nor how relevant it really all is.

An additive is just...an additive. Don't expect miracles.
