heatercore at top? yes or no?
I am debating if I should put my heatercore on the top (5.25x6.75x2) as a blow hole (blowing air out), or put it in the bottom front of my case (7x7x2).
Blowhole you don't have to worry about filtering dust, or moving one of my drive cages. Front of my case I can use a bigger one, cooler air blowing at it, and the reservoir can be at the top of my setup so I don't have to worry about air in my heatercore. So what are your openion? How much performace/ease of use will I gain by having a bigger heatercore at the bottom of my case, rather than up top? Thanks, Also, how much warmer will the air entering my case be if it is already warmed by cooling the heatercore? Not much right? (edited 'cause I made many errors) |
IF your pulling cool outside air through the rad, either way there won't be much of a performance difference. I have mine at the top pulling cool air in. To me it's a pain in mounting, kind of awkward but the tubing positions work great. Bleeding maybe an issue if the pump isn't strong enough. Air tends to get traped in it mounted up top. If I did it again, I'd have mine at the bottom of the case. Just seems easier to deal with.
I didn't see the first time. You would probably be better with the bigger heater core but you might not notice any performance until you started cooling a GPU or dualie cpus. |
I put a 10in core at the top of my Cheiftek. Works awesome, just have to make sure I don't spill coke inside it :)
