Just a note.

For what i've seen, im sticking with 8.2 for now. Dx9 has a few stability issues that dont make me confortable in using it.

well 3dmark03 wont install unless u have dx9 installed... i had to upgrade just to see what it looks like. and if u own a nvidia based card, dont expect great scores, it seems that its geared towards radeon cards... looks like sumone payed money to Futuremark to get better scores with thier vid card. so far the best i can get for a score is around 1450, where as a radeon is able to pull off 3500+

also im runnin a p4-2.8,512ddr,gf4ti4600

Man 3dmark03 is one hell of a grader. Its puts your beast of a machine down to knees!!! I have a fairly good setup and i scored aorund 1300. But i mean, i ran most the things under 10 fps!!!

what does the popular sharing programs first letter? :)

Banshee164 02-12-2003 09:25 AM

It's not geared towards ATI or Nvidia from what I've read so far. The FX also seems to score around 3500. Not good to make an assumption bout the program based on using a older card...

all of the gf4s suck at 3dmark2003 because they are dx8, where as the newer radeons are dx9. because the tests use a lot of dx9 stuff, they dont run well on a dx8 card.

i think this is a pretty depressing benchmark tool in general... its not really meant to run well on todays hardware. the graphics companies must love these things those, they make everyone want to run out and buy a new video card.
