Where can I found simple Socket- A waterblockconstruction?

Yesterday I decided to build a inexpensive watercooling-system for my XP2100+.
And beacuase I´m very short of money i decided to try to build my own waterblock. Soo i startet too look around on the internet for some nice drawings and information about Socket A waterblocks. But the more i red about waterblock-constructions the more confused i got. I don´t have the ability to use any cnc-machines or other more advanced machines so i need to find a quite simple construction.

Ps. The waterpump i am going to use gives 1000 liter/hour. Ds

Welcome to the forums!:)

Do a search here on the forums for #Rotor's design. Those blocks can be made pretty quick, no special tools or machinery and they're effective enough. Here's the link with the rig I made yesterday, all but fan shroud made in one day:

Good luck!!!

/edit: here's the sorta howto for those blocks. Hope it helps;)

Yup, #Rotor design would work just swell for your needs.

Say Puzzdre, that JIUHB 1700 ever do any better than 2.1?

torten_86 02-18-2003 01:16 PM

OK thanks
do you think that a rotordesign i better den a Maze 1 styled block?

Axle 02-18-2003 01:50 PM

Oh yes, much better I'd say. Maze 1? I'd say so.

The chip is great, the mobo isn't. With replaced stock hs with sawed-off-to-fit duron alu hs, on epox 8K9A2, won't do much better than 11 x 193, on 12x multi it behaves somewhat erratic, but stable on 12 x 175. Bloody mobo doesn't have the mounting holes for nb hs, guess I should thought of that earlier.
I think that cpu has lot more potential, but have to make better cooling of nb...

Wow I can see that. Doesn't look to be too many ways around it, either. I mean you could always thermal epoxy your block on, but that might be streching...a full WB is pretty heavy after all.

Or you could always go steal your brother's A7N8X when he's not looking...:p

:) , cannot say it didn't came to my mind with his mobo sitting here beside me, but when we installed it, the troubles begun. I was messing with that mobo for two days before I got it to work. It wouldn't post, it was messing with redundant psu's, it would work with just one powered on, but not with both psu's. It would post just with mine radeon 8500, and not with older cards (his is gf I annihilator for now), it would power up for few seconds, and than simply turn off. Nothing. It wouldn't let me flash the bios, not from floppy, and with built in flasher it won't recognise the keyboard, so you cannot type the filename of the bios file. It worked once, and that was enuff, I managed to flash it. And for some reason, it works fine now, with his vid card, everything fine, and good overclock, even with stock hs on nb...Strange mobo, but once working, it seems to be great.
Does epox 8RDA+ have holes on the nb hs? Cannot see it clearly in the pic on their site...

Thx!

sure does, CPU, NB, AND SB w00t !

:)

Thank You Spamz0r:cool: , guess we have a winner! Gotta sell this mofo and build the nb wblock in the mean time!

Thx for the info!:)

i have the 8rda+, it has the 2hole NB mount. i find that it doesn't get much warmer than body temp at 166FSB.

great board all around, after blowing up 2, yes 2 8k5a+'s

am somewhat afraid going to 2.2V again, stable at
2.075 and 2500MHz

Puzzdre 02-19-2003 06:38 AM

Wooooot? 2.5 GHz!?!?

Man, that's goooood! I gotta change this mobo!:D

I had misfortune with two MSI K7T266a's, I didn't even oc'ed them, they was no good...

Switching to epox, and nforce chipset!:p

Thx!
