copper and aluminum block (corrosions?)

I am thinking I am going to make the base of my waterblock from copper and the top w/ aluminum. How much will I have to worry about corrosion happening?

One solution I know is anodizing it. How much will that cost? What if I just use water wetter? What if I just paint it?

Please give me suggestions on what you would do and the risks/cost of each...

Thanks

My block is all aluminum and I use dexcool in mine(the orange stuff). No corrosion yet. Painting the top with some chemical resistant paint might work if your worried about it. If you got some copper to use as a top, use that.

I am more worried about the copper caroding (spelling?). I bought some copper at the scrap yard today but sence aluminum is so much easier to machine, and free for me. I would rather make the top out of that. Will I have to worry about the aluminum corroding too?

Ok, so after reading your link I know I don't want to use aluminum. So this leads me to ask. Will brass be 100% compatible w/ copper and everything? I think I can get some of this for free also, and for some reason I love machining brass. So it looks like brass it is... any concerns?

what are you going to use brass for? the top, the bottom? brass has terrible themal properties compared to pure copper.

Brass just for the top. Copper on the botton. I will use an 0-ring and screws to attach the 2.

Also, is there a type of copper which is not that good of a thermal conductor?

Brass will be fine. I belive all copper is pretty equel thermally wise. Pretty good chance you got C110 which is most commonly used and good.

Ok, that should work fine then, I thought you were wanting to use brass for the bottom plate...
