3.25" block too wide?

I am planning on making my block 3-1/2" wide. Do you think I will run into trouble w/ mobo components? The reason it will be this big is so I can fit all 3 hose barbs on there; how much space do I need between each barb (1/8").

Also, I was looking at all the MSI Nforce 2 mobos, and from the pictures, THEY DON"T HAVE ANY CPU SOCKET HOLES! What's wrong w/ them? All ASUS boards have 'em correct?

Thanks for any and all help.

I would take a look at amd.com and check their tech documents for the dimensions of the keep out space around the socket. I think 3-1/2 will be ok but double check anyways. I made my block 80mmX50mm and leaves just enough space. I have almost 1/4 inch of space between my barbs. That space will depend on your design though.

The MSI nforce boards don't have the mounting holes. I always loved MSI boards but the missing feature will keep me from buying a nforce board from them again. As for the ASUS boards? I'm not sure.

Oops in my post it is suppose to be 3-1/4 (like the title). But this only leaves 1/8" between barbs, and 3/8" from the edge of the block to the side barbs (and a 1/8" O-ring will be centered in the 3/8" space). Will this be ok? I might be able to go 3-1/2" (maybe).

Thanks for posting!

That should be ok . I just measured mine and the space is just about 3/16 between the barbs. 3-1/4 is the size my block is. Which is just under 80mm.
