Is this true?
I have not confirmed this yet, but I was looking @ Swiftechs site this morning and came across this product: MCW462-UH™ WATER BLOCK, and the following pic/description:

No they are correct. The -UH has 1/2" NPT threads; they put big holes in the -U and removed the entire center area. BillA had some test results at overclockers which showed in its stock state this block performs horribly, but that with abit of modification it can be an excellent block.
