Fastening two copper plates

What should I use to attach the plates,
AS3 thermal compound or capillary solder them togheter?
Will the AS3 thermal compund be able to hold the two copper pieces togheter (I did a test and it doesen't sems to be so good)?

What does have the best termal transfear capacity?

I don't know if it would work but how about you make some sort of channel at the seam, AS3 the contact area and solder at the seam in the channel. Don't flame me, it's just an idea and I admit there is absolutely no science behind it.

I don't think the AST does handle such heat

I did tear the plates apart when I got home, and I was shocked.

The AS thermal addactive had only made good contackt (glued) on 1/3 of the plate, maybe the AS had harden too much?

You should come up with a detailed plan of what you have and what you want to do and post it in the waterblock thread, I think they will help you out. I am a total newb and they guys around here have helped me a lot. Probably only a few will help (I guess some of them are too good for newbs) but the ones that do are real good guys.

this is what you should really do, cos' choosing the material for your application needs more info. What you wanna do - seal the waterblock, with bolts/no bolts, size, application, free area for sealant....I'm no expert of any kind for this stuff, but pls. post some more info on what you need to achieve, and, I'm sure your questions will be answered...;)

Cheers!
