W/C upgrade
After upgrading to a (noisy) TI4200, there's gonna be some rebuilding which leads to these questions:
1) Will I damage my Eheim 1048, if I mount it upside down (outlet pointing down) 2) Will a 200L/H pump and a BIX with papst 120mm 46CFM at 7V be able to cool a GF4 TI4200 with a innovatek, dangerden or swiftech head (if i should prefer one over another, please write so) all the above will run on a seperate loop, with nio connection to the CPU. 3) Will 4 80mm at 7V be more efficient (and equally quiet) than my two 120mm papst at 7V, when blowing (or sucking) through a Heatercore (Approx. 230 long, 145mm wide and 30mm deep)? Planning on getting pabst, if they will yield better. 4) The correct way to connect the components are(?): pump -> CPU -> rad -> resv, right? right now the rad-config are (and will be the same with the heatercore): http://chrhansen.homepage.dk/diverse_billeder/4.jpg http://chrhansen.homepage.dk/diverse_billeder/6.jpg |
Re: W/C upgrade
1) no
2) i'm not sure about that. Maybe a 1048 (600l/h) would be safer. 3) no. keep the dual 120mm Papst. 4) depends. what is easier for you, what produce less turns, what setup makes you use *zero* elbow ..? the answer is the correct layout. have fun :) |
my 0.02 cents.
1) No.
2) 200l/h without restrictions is too low, get at least a 1046 (personally i'd get a 600l/h at least) or similar. The bix and the papst and one of those blocks , it will work. Are you using the same reservoir or none, or an independent one? 3) No. The 2x 120mm is more efficient, and puts out more cfm than those 4x 80mm , assuming the fans are decent (the 120mm ones that is). 4) That depends, if you use that way, you have a bit higher flow into the cpu block. You can use pump->rad->cpu->res to have the coolest water reaching the cpu. Both systems work good, the rest is up to you. |
