Dont yell at me...
but is it possible to run a 226watt peltier off a normal power supply. The ps has 550 watts...
|
supposedly, but no.
check the side of your psu. there are all diferent amperages noted on the side panel of it. look at the amperage of your 12V rail; and compare it to what you need for the pelt. remember that your pc also needs a nice portion of the amps |
I would offer the following arguement that I derived from speaking with another on this topic. If one ran the 225w at 75% of power which is more efficient anyway. The power from a 550w should do it. How you would accomplish this is varied as to knowledge and want to. I think I recall him saying that 11amps would be pulled instead of 15amps.

My 226 watt Pelt pulls 19.2 amps @ 12.05 volts (80% of 15 volt V-max).
IF your PSU can deliver a minimum of 25 amps on its 12 V rail then you might get it to work and still keep the computer stable. Good luck, |
