How embarrassing...

This is kind of embarrassing to ask but... um...

How do you mount a fan to the BIX Radiator? Is it just normal fan mounting screws or do I need special equipment?

Never worked with a BIX, but i'd think regular or shortened fan screws. Just get a couple of both and see, there not that expensive.

all the bix's i've seen come with drywall screws that seem to work rather well. not sure why they didn't get cooler ones but they work and that's what matters =p

zip ties will work too, just use the small ones and make sure to pull them very tight

Be very careful the bix's are kind of poorly designed, a few people I know have had issues because after putting screws in, the punctured fins, and caused leaks. So the zip ties are your best bet, but if you do screws, be extremely careful.

very good point... i totally forgot about that. Take a pair of snips or dremel and cut the end as it pierces through , once you have a good lock on the rad snip the end off and continue to drive .. This will prevent it from piercing the rad and causing leakage with ='s teh suck --Josh

There's other ways: you can use 3mm (M3) screwthreaded rods, as illustrated below (pic courtesy of Overclex.net). Just feed them through carefully...

I have found another way, but it is a bit hard to explain, and I can't be bothered to make complex drawings right now. Suffice to say that it involves hooking the edges of a shroud behind the lips that the mounting holes are drilled in, and wedging a securing strip over it... If that makes any sense....

I used regular machine screws. I don't know what size they were but they fit perfect. I didn't even use nuts.

6-32 machine bolts work fine, just dont go too deep.
