Anyone using LindowsOS?
I hear its great, but browsing the website has shown me that no current Window's software titles work on it. You have to download the Lindows version. Is this true?
Otherwise, how is the stability... P.S. Anyone hear anything on the new Windows OS due next summer? Codename "Longhorn" |
Longhorn = Palladium. Bad news.
Lindows = Linux w/o most of the features. Bad news. If you want an easy to use flavor of Linux, pop Mandrake or Red Hat on your box and install XPde as the GUI. You shouldn't have any problems, and when you install WINE/X, Crossover Plugin, and Crossover Office, you should be able to run many Windows appz on your machine, including many games. |
Thanks, i think i'll try that.

Another alternative, or so I have heard, is Lycoris or Xandros. You may not be able to just download them, but they may be something of interest.

On second thought, download Mandrake 9.1 ... very VERY nice. Good luck d/ling it for a while, though, since it was just released.
