WTB: AMD XP system want to spend $700

As the title says, need to locate a good system for a friend. I have his money in paypal and lost out on 2 auctions in the last 30 seconds The system SHOULDN'T have a hard drive as I have one already. This is more about features than price. So I'm not going to dicker about price, just looking for the most for his money. Fancy is better ie..modded case, water cooling. LMK what you have

why dont you just goto www.newegg.com

for $700 you could build a new one with the same specs you listed and prolly have left enough in the $700 for a nice case and watercooling.

I built my current system for $600 that is identical to that one, sans the watercooling stuff and the decent vid card. That was almost a year ago.

Use newegg and you should be able to build what you want for $700 easy, as sn_85 says.

Oh, and you can never have too much hard drive space. If this guy is using broadband, he may need the extra drive.

I agree.

Reason I asked was becuase I JUST finished building a sweet a$$ system for a firend of mine and it was under $600 even with a HDD.

Here are the specs of that system:

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 2100Mhz @168FSB (1.8 Vcore)
ABIT NF7-S MB
CORSAIR 512MB PC3000 DDR RAM (used)
Thermatake SK7 w/ Sunon 80mm case fan
Toshiba Combo DVD/CDRW/CDROM 16x32x10x40
Ever Case Black Case w/ 300W PSU
Floppy Drive
Gainwand Ti4200 64MB AGP8X Video
+(1) Sunon 80mm case fan (rear exhaust)

Total ~$509

I figure you dont buy the HSF solution and invest about $150-$200 in a good water cooling unit and you are done!

OR

One other idea is you allow your firend to support my cause and let me build a watercooled Shuttle SN41G2 Nvidia nForce2/MCP-T system. I REALLY WANT SOMEONE TO SPONSER ME!!! I BUILD IT AND TAKE CREDIT, YOU OWN AND KEEP IT! :D :D :D
