Best WB for under $125 USD ???

Ok I am siting here right now with my shiny new WWR waterblock, (now with polished top plate) and someone offered me an obscene pile of cash for it, To the extent that beeing a poor college student, I just couldnt say no.

So my question is whats the next best thing on the market? I see mostly Swiftechs new block that got about .22 in Bill Adam's test, and a Maze 3 which I think is roughly the same. But If at all possible I would like to get something better than those.

Are there any better Waterblocks out there? And if so are they useable with a Pelt?

If I were you, I'd wait for the Made in USA WW blocks, they should be available shortly.

peace.

i heard also that cathar was doing some inprovements on his blocks. since he gave up doing them (i suppose) will he reveal his secrets to the company who will make those new blocks?

Are you a student in engineering, physics, or agriculture? All these majors typically have pretty decent machine shops. Take the safety course and just make a #rotor style block. You should be able to get a good performer for under $20 this way. If not, then why not just hit the forums for a used waterblock? Should still work just fine, and again be near $20. The whitewater is for the obsessive with large amounts of disposable income :)

Cathar is getting the WW's produced in America. AFAIK there have been a few delays, but it shouldn't be too long.

If you plan on using pelts i think the swiftech is your best choice :)

Money realy isnt that much of an object, Someone REALY wanted my WWR block, the object is finding something that Im going to be happy with to replace it, Im unsure if I am going to go the TEC route now, I was looking at the costs associated with it, and the fact that apperently an Otis might realy strain with a 226 watt TEC.

They are not out yet. D-tek is in the middle of putting them in production still. Maybe a few months before they are up for sale.

And yes.

I went with a DangerDen Maze 3, I might upgrade it to a Tec, or get one of the new WWR blocks when the time comes.

Sproket 04-16-2003 12:08 PM

I dont think WWR would be good for Tec cooling from I have read.
