Arctic Silver's *new* Céramique
It's been preliminary tested by a couple of websites, but it's finally out, and Arctic Silver has it posted on their website, here.
(I'll just shut up now, and let Bill take over). |
Very interesting. As a "goo", it may be a bit easier to apply, since the force of the HSF/block pressing down on it would push the excess outwards, unlike the AS3 style paste that pretty much sits there. It would appear to be more difficult to apply an ultra-thin layer, though, when using it in conjunction with extremely well lapped surfaces. My suspicion is that it would be better for the non-expert user than AS3 due to ease of "amateur" application, but could be worse for "expert" application.
That's just my take on it, though. |
You might be right. Céramique is also non-electrically-conductive, making it more "noob-proof" :D
|
Would conductive possible be better if you were working with a irregular flat surface for transferring heat? I thought that electrically condusive materials were also better at transferring heat.
|
They actually have another one that is conductive and yes it does perform better. It is called SX5 or something. It also is not yet available.
|
I wonder if I could mix "Céramique" with AS3 epoxy, to make that non-permanent bond...
|
Ok, I'll give it a shot.
I ordered 22 grams of "Céramique", and 5.0 grams of Arctic Silver Alumina Epoxy. Will advise. |
