3/8" section in a 1/2" loop

I know that it will somehow negatively affect the overall performance, but I'm planning on running this reservoir in my system:

The rest of my system has 1/2" ID tubing, but this res uses 3/8" barbs. Me being lazy/not wanting to create too much of a hassle was considering using a step down and then a step up system for the reservoir. I would buy two of these and have perhaps a 2" section of 3/8" tubing going into and coming out of the reservoir before stepping back up to 1/2". Will this cause too drastic of results, or should it be okay. I looked at BillA's tubing graph and it didn't show a huge difference between the head loss.

Any way that these would go:

If it is 3/8" ID tubing then they should. If it is 3/8"OD tho I guess you'd need these:

Or a piece of 3/8" copper pipe :)
