Athlon XP Ocing abilities?
What Athlon XP would be the best for the biggest OC? Should I get an XP 1600 or an XP 1900? Just wondering how well they OC. I've been slacking lately in that department.

I bought an XP 1500 (1.33GHz) and it is working great at 1575 MHz with default voltage (1.75V). It posted at 1650 MHz but was a little unstable, my radiator is too small so I have to stay away from raising the voltage but I will take care of that soon.
I have a 150x100x20 mm low pressure drop radiator and intend to replace it with a DangerDen Cube. The temp reading of the in-socket probe under load is 40 C using a 92 mm Papst fan (35 cfm, and it's very quiet). That's 18-19 C over ambient with a really small radiator, it's excellent. But the temps climb fast when I raise speed/voltage. |
yeah but not sure if thats the radiator to buy though. u might wanna check out the radiator roundup...

Screw the radiator round up.. those are too expensive.. do the 2x size big momma from Autozone. Costs NO money at all if you got one near you :) Fits 2x120MM fans. Thx terabyte.
btw: People have been getting extremely high OC with 1800 + AGKGA K cpus.. those are for Ubercooling like vapochill and things like that. Otherwise my AGKGA 1800+ Y is getting into windows at 2000+ on a freakin Coolermaster POS heatsink. (upgrading watercooling.. have to take it out for now. :( |
