All heatercores cool quite well, and this is a modified heatercore. I have a heatercore and it rox and probably performs similarly. The advantage of Leviathon is that it has mounting tabs cuz these things are usually a bitch to mount. Also, most heatercores don't come naturally w/ convenient fittings like 3/8 or 1/2... I had to modify mine from 5/8" to 1/2". I'm sure that was the case with the Leviathon. It has 1/2" barbs so you don't have to do any modding yourself. For a heatercore that has been modded, I don't consider $50 to be that bad. Of course, everything I just said was assumptions... I've never actually owned a Leviathon. But it LOOKS like a good product :).
