phase change/watercooling ?/problems
 

ok..
i'm using an old slot A kryotech...mounted to a home made waterblock to act as a water chiller..
I'm using an eheim 1060 pump.
Black Ice Extreme rad (no fans on when using kryo)
danger den zblock chipset cooler
swiftech mcw-5000a cpu wb
swiftech mcw-50 vid card cooler
danger den clear res v1.0
ABit nf7-s 2.0
2500+
9700pro.
Ok...
watercooling without the kryo on..with two fans mounted on the rad...water temps @ high 70's..
depending on load..gaming goes to low 80's
with the kryo on, but system off, water temps can go below 55f.
Now, with kryo on, system on, and watercooling running...
water temps are stable @ 80f...
now..
i'm thinking a couple things..
pump is too fast...(600gph)
res too small
(rad could be messing up the temps?)
or the kryotech can't handle the load..
any thoughts or help here?

Any specs or links to your spacific kryotech?

At a guess, the kryotech can't cope with the heat load.

The vapochill can only dissipate 100W.

You are using it to cool the cpu the chipset and the gpu. I'm not sure, but I'd say this is definitely more than 100W.

Also, the design of the waterblock connected to the kryotech would be very important. I would suspect that the thermal resistance is too high, resulting in a high temperature difference across block.

There are different approaches to phase change, depending on whether you're going for water chilling or direct evaporation, and I'm not sure how interchangable they are.

I asked you for specs of your unit before, without knowing that no one could answer that question. We need to see the specs.

I honestly don't know the specs...
i'll keep looking for them..
a better question might be for me to ask..
what the theoretical load of a 2500+,9700pro, and nforce2 NB would be together, overclocked.?

I would hazard a guess, combined with pump heat, at around 150W. This could be a bit over the top and would likely represent full load on all components.

Someone else might know better.

Thata about what I was thinking for a well overclocket setup. Now if you knew the specs of your Kryo we would know if that is to much or not. :)

I honestly don't know them, the unit doesn't have a label or info on the compressor either..
I do know that it's the slot A variety.
So it was used for the athlon 500 to 1ghz cpu's
I don't believe this to be a super G though, but I could be mistaken.
I'd venture to say that this unit could dissipate enough heat off of one of the original slot A athlons...

Not really. :D I would bet it is way to underpowered for your current setup. There is alot more heat being produced from you current system than an older Slot A system. In fact I would bet your GPU alone is putting off as much heat as a Slot A CPU.
